Best night ever was also an episode that put Spike in a good light, sadly none of the mane6 listened to him in the episode.
They made him do that in Lesson Zero and he was portrayed as clever and brave in ADaPS. But they don’t use him like that anymore.
Then again when you think about it, its not just Spike. Most of the show’s characters aren’t written to be endearing anymore. Just look at Rarity. She doesn’t even get episodes anymore.
They snuck an abusive mother past the censors for three seasons!
Amen. Spike needs a truely GOOD episode. Secret of My Excess and/or Owls Well That Ends Well come close.
