Don’t forget Steel types. They can take Psychic attacks like nothing. Also, the splitting of the Special stat into S. Attack and S. Defense helped nerf Psychics.
Yeah. That’s because in Gen 1 (Red/Blue Pokemon) nothing could hurt Psychic. There was a glitch that made Ghost attacks not very effective against psychic.
Now we have Dark and a vastly larger, effective variety of Ghost and Bug attacks. A pure psychic type doesn’t carry the same weight anymore.
I also caught an Abra on a Nuzlocke run, in a playthrough of Emerald.
Feels good man. It hasn’t died yet since it just murders everything that isn’t a Dark type.
Very proud of that.
