I just included a winged version as a crowd-pleaser for a rather lively and public birthday celebration. The disparity in vote score between both versions is proof that it’s working.
 
There is nothing more to read from that design choice.

I see your point… But I kinda like the clunkiness of her wings.  
Twilight’s a big six-legged thing (bigger than the other 5, including Applejack or whoever you’d put at highest when humanizing them) she shouldn’t look small and slim.  
If you want a slim torso, go for AJ :P
