I want to know the answer behind Square refusing to promote Final Fantasy in Smash. Are they still that sore about Hiroshi Yamaguchi not listening to them about how to improve the N64 to be able to the power the games they wanted to make?

Yeah, Sega, and Capcom are pretty open about letting others use their franchises, and even Konami has been surprisingly. The fact, they got Rareware & Microsoft on board (Banjo Kazooie, and the Cuphead Mii outfit) is quite impressive too.
 
While there’s no proof, the fact, there’s hardly any Square stuff in SSBU seems to imply that. With the FF7 rerelease on Switch, and the remake on PS4, you’d think Square would want SSB promoting FF more.

Enix made the Dragon Quest games so I think the two companies while merged together still focus on their individual franchises. I could be wrong, who knows. So I still say Square is the only company that has contributed to Smash who still acts spoiled about sharing their properties.
 
It has to be Cloud. I can’t see the problem with any other character. There has to be some interview or any other hard evidence about Square’s relationship with the Super Smash Bros series.

In fairness, Square/Enix allowed the Dragon Quest’s Hero in, (and as DLC to help pay for the license) and giving him plenty of music… Though, that may be the Enix side, and maybe they’re more liberal with their properties then Square is.
 
I remember Sakurai stated the “Everybody is here” roster almost didn’t happen, and many fans assume Cloud was the hardest character to get back, given how small the FF/Square representation is. (No Chocobo Mii hats even.)  
That’s why I doubt we’ll see Geno as DLC.

Yeah, I can hear Cloud telling Sonic that he should be glad he has musical variety for his stages as they hear loud door knocks from outside Smash headquarters who are yelling “We don’t care if you wanted everyone back! We want Cloud out of your game, RIGHT NOW!”
 
Why hasn’t someone made a “piss off Square Enix’s licensees” edition for the custom Smash Spirits Twitter and make some FF7 Spirits yet?

I remember that. The 8-bit version is nice too. Wish it got remixed in SSB…
 
I can’t believe Jun Senoue made a new Megaman remix for “Ultimate,” but not a new Sonic remix, considering he’s composed Sonic BGM sense STH3. (It’d be like if Koji Kondo suddenly ignored Mario & Zelda.) I love MM, but honestly it’s rather unfair, he, Pac-Man, and others always get new SSB remixes in every new game, but Sonic hasn’t got squat besides the (admittedly cool) “Angel Island: Act 1&2” remix in his debut in Brawl so long ago.
 
Though, I suppose Cloud/FF have it much worse… (Only 2 songs taken straight from FF7. So at least, Sonic has some music, even if it’s almost all reused.)

I will admit, I liked the intro song “Sonic Warrior,” better then “Sonic Boom,” but I like both.  
Oddly, the American song sounded more anime-esque to me.

The Japanese version sounds perfectly good for me. I preferred that one.

Alot of fans complain those levels were kinda confusing, but I think that’s what made them kinda fun. The music was good too. (Kinda partial to the American soundtrack personally, but both soundtracks are good.)

Sonic CD is my favorite. Stardust Speedway, Wacky Workbench and Collision Chaos Zone’s my favorite.

Out of the classic games, I’d say I’m partial to STH2, as well. I like CD, as well.

Sonic 2 is the best game. Sonic three have the best music too.
