…Well, that’s more than they’ve given Moondancer, so it could be worse. Not that I don’t want Moondancer to show up again too.
Hopefully we see her in season 8 (episode 20 ?).
She did show up in a flashback and was mentioned by name. Not a full appearance, sure, but an acknowledgement of her existence nonetheless.
We can always sacrifice Spitfire. She won´t be missed.

Perhaps Twilight’s just more forgiving than Spitfire. Maybe it’s because Starlight admitted she did a bad thing.

She wasn’t necessarily expelled, she was just removed as lead pony. It’s certainly possible she was expelled, but she may also have just been given latrine duty for a year, or whatever.
Still calling that they didn’t–officially–since she didn’t say so in so many words, and this poster is here as FORESHADOWING.

Soarin: When Lightning Dust first joined, we kind of did what you did, but on purpose. We put an electric cloud above her, and let her get hit with lightning. She yelled that it wasn’t funny, that she was gonna be traumatized for life. So that’s what we call her. We call her Trauma.
Look, she’s clearly not being punished. Somehow. Yes, she almost indirectly killed the Princess’s friends…but if Starlight, who did the same intentionally–even if the ramifications weren’t as planned–can be forgiven, so can one selfish jerk.
I like to imagine they just went the public shaming route.
So what might Lightning’s fate have been? Cleaning up after Cerberus down in Tartarus?
