Pretty much exactly the point I was going for when they reunited in my most recent chapters. Rainbow Dash improved as a person after parting ways for a short while, and was both a good and bad influence on Gilda as kids.

Rainbow changed Gilda. But wasn’t there to change her further once she was living in Ponyville. Rather sad.
