but marjority tomboy is more likely feel more comfortable wearing pants.
Can you imagine the kind of uproar that might occur if they picked a socially proscribed form of clothing for girls from a different culture? Imagine if each of them were wearing a burka. Some people like wearing them.
The point of the whole argument is that she’s already wearing black shorts, and as Chick said, not every girl wears (or, like my last ex, even likes) skirts.
Giving her a boner-killing pink skirt to WEAR OVER a pair of black shorts is just stupid. It feels like the designers were forcefully trying to make every character look overly girly.
Hell, not even Fluttershy needs a skirt. A pair of jeans would have been okay.
Everyone wears shirts. Not everyone wears skirts. Not even every girl.
It shouldn’t bother you any more than the fact that they’re all wearing shirts.
Meh, it still bothers me. I just hope they do this well and don’t make it a huge pile o’ stereotypes. Like what Faust was trying to get away from when she did FiM. It would suck if they took the MLP characters just to get a jump start and not do anything important with.
LPS is only half entertaining because they’re trying to stuff two shows into one and the pets always make the humans boring. This one still has the pony gimmick of them being able to fly and use magic.
It’s an article of clothing. If they were all wearing the exact same design, I could see it. But they’re all different. Hell, RD is wearing shorts under hers.
First impressions are a thing. I’ll still try out the first few episodes, but if it’s anything like LPS, I’m not gonna look back for a while.
For it not being pretty black and white, it’s a bit odd that 6/6 of the characters are all into the same exact thing.
who knows, they may not wear the same stuff in the show for all we know
From what I’ve seen they think they’re going to be in the same clothes constantly.
Um, because they like them?
That’s a pretty black/white view of people based on something that’s so incredibly dependent on personal preference. Sometimes tomboys like dressing like a “girl,” and sometimes “girls” like dressing like tomboys. You can’t really say “all girls wear skirts” and “all tomboys wear shorts.”
I don’t see the issue, and judging things on appearance is strangely something this fandom does an awful lot.
I wouldn’t have a problem if it wasn’t all of them wearing a skirt. If RD wears a skirt, she’s a stereotypical girl. If she doesn’t, she’s a stereotypical tomboy.
Answer me this: why are all of them wearing skirts?
If their torsos got proportionally larger, I’d say it was an improvement. Right now, their torsos are smaller than their heads so they gave them extra long legs to compensate, and that just looks weird.
It’s the intent. They see RD as unable to wear anything other than what they edited her to wear. Because an athlete like her apparently can never wear a skirt.
Because athletic people only dress one way and are concerned with practicality 24/7. People are robots, after all.
@bboifatz
Wonder how the reaction would be if they decided to make their breasts bigger…
That is an ARCHETYPE, not a stereotype.
