Given the number of mental breakdowns among ponies, I’d say they are put someplace quiet so they can’t hurt themselves until it gets worked out, with help if needed (remember Twilight Sparkle attempting to help Rainbow Dash when she thought she was destroying Applejack’s barn?).

i think they just give them a room were they can not hurt them selfs or each other and look after them and try to help them anyway they can.

You know seeing this makes me wonder. What is Equestria’s policy on treating the mentally disturbed? Do they just give them “happy” pills or do they prescribe to the more “extreme” treatments of yesteryear?
