But I don’t think this is consider as feminism. Feminism.. to how i see it is understanding gender inequality and addressing the issues.
With MLP… they’re just more girls than guys, because they’re pushing toys for girls. If any of the characters turned into guys, it wouldn’t really change much. It’s just a show featuring more guys than girls.
It’s just have an imbalance of more females than males and that’s the only thing.
…rather than consider how he might actually just be mature enough to understand that Rarity and him can’t be together the way he’d want to, and kind enough to desire her happiness so much, he’s willing to help her win back the one she’s in love with.
Because god forbid we accept Spike has positive qualities and displays of maturity.
He does.
Part of why the episode sucked.
Guy. I meant to write guy.
Ugh, sorry.
As long as you’re a gay helping a girl. Otherwise it would just be useful advice for everyone, boy or girl.
Spike isn’t being a doormat for respecting Rarity to make her own choices and even helping her with catching Trenderhoof’s eye. He’s being an actual friend for her, and that’s what being a friend is about. Sometimes, you have to put the desires and needs of others ahead of your own.
After some more consideration, I can actually see how this could be feminism.
As long as guys have a masochistic drive to please their crushes to the point of self-denial, everything is a-okay!
Feminism is magic!
Which he is.
Seriously, Spike can be a terrible role model at times.
