I’ve caught them to. I like nautiluses. (Their shells are pretty.)
One fish I’d love to be able to catch in AC (that I don’t think they’ve had yet) is the Manta Ray. (Those giant ones like the one in Super Mario 64.) They’re probably my favorite ocean animal, and they’re very cool to watch.
Not to be confused with the “ray” you can catch, which is actually a southern stingray.
Not to mention the giant trevally (fishing) and chambered nautilus (diving).
Ah, how I love beetle farming…
I’ve caught several of them actually. (The message you get when you catch one is funny.) Donated one to my museum. (I always donate new critters I catch to the museum.)
Giant Isopods sure are getting popular lately. I hear cutesy plush toys of them sell well in Japan.
I hear some animals like the whale shark, can only be caught on the island.
Also I just learned you can snatch a giant isopod in Animal Crossing today… scary.
