Really it comes down to circumstance both could work and both could go horribly wrong it’s all about how it’s done that decides the outcome.
It’s been nice talking with you I now have more ideas about the changelings than what I started out with.

I know and I agree, but that wasn’t what I was implying.
I’m not saying the changelings wouldn’t do something prior or after to gain trust, I was saying that the thing you suggested (disguising as ponies to gain they’re trust first) would be a bad idea for the previously stated reasons.

He was also under mind control, people seem to forget that. I would think, with the mind being located in the head, and love coming from the heart, it makes a lot more sense for those negative effects to come from the mind control than love draining.
Eh it was pretty close to a week and when I said headache I meant head pain that blocked his magic. I didn’t see him get recharged I saw him and cadence perform a deus ex machina love bomb but I didn’t see her feed her magic into him.
Again small short feedings on willing ponies would most likely be harmless besides if the changelings did get accepted it’s not like the ponies would just watch them starve to death.
Try “days” and “drained to the point of his magic collapsing and having to be restored by external intervention”. That’s a little closer to the truth.
So be it; you want to treated differently you have to work for it and I don’t think disguising and doing good as some other pony is going to really reflect positively as well on changelings like well…changelings doing good as changelings.
Yeah I need to stop comparing ponies to humans it makes me think the ponies would react like them.
I wouldn’t say no one. There must be some cool-headed ponies who would be willing to say “hey, let’s give them a chance” on the simple principle of not painting an entire race with a broad brush.
That might be true but the opposition would be much larger since they would have no one on their side to start with and no one to vouch for them.
I gotta agree the best bet for changelings as a whole is to be themselves and approach Equestrians genuinely and out of good will, not to pretend to be ponies.
Adopting an alias and going into pony society and revealing yourself after you’ve gained trust is nice for one or a handful of changelings, it isn’t going to work well when we’re talking about upwards of thousands changelings.

Hahaha yeah sure you would you would accept someone who was just the last time you saw them tried to kill you and has done nothing to show they are genuine in there resolve to integrate but if a friend who has helped you and others of the community and has been nothing but kind but afraid of what others might think of him if they knew the truth but still manages to confess who they are so that others might see they aren’t all bad and they might accept other changelings you would just say fuck you and everything you’ve done you weren’t completely honest with me up front and we want nothing to do with you.

All we have seen was shining who had been fed on non stop for weeks and all he got was a headache that he completely recovered from in a matter of minutes so short feedings on willing ponies might leave them tired at the most for a few minutes but that’s hardly a bad thing.
