The meeting started thirty minutes ago! Business Rarity is getting real tired of your shit. Meanwhile Sassy Saddles is always happy to see you look bad in front of the boss.
On this one I was mostly practicing cleaning up lines. As in the lines and edges of the main characters of the picture, not so much the background which is basic. I have been reading a lot about edges in paintings and trying to apply them but it has been a uphill battle.
Both Sassy Saddles and Rarity’s hair is off model, but I wanted to go with something slightly different. It has been nearly a year since I tried to paint cloths. Clothes are very hard. Good suits are even harder. Ponies should stay naked.

Also, sorry I just didn’t think this was supposed to be some mind changing experience.
I just thought it might’ve been fun to talk about the differences of technology between historical Earth & Equestria, but apparently it’s really frustrating.
I don’t actually want to feel like I’m the equivalent of head to wall smashing, I’ve tried that & apparently it’s bad for you (or the wall if it’s cheap).
I just don’t care that much how much sense it really makes for Cloudsdale to have snow factories while Ponyville is made up primarily of thatched roof cottages.
I mean, I’m not purposefully trying to frustrate you, but being called stupid is a bit hurtful. Ya know?

cavemen inventing a plane to you sounds perfectly fine somehow and i do not understand how.
imagine modern day england where one town is living like tribal people but with cars, another is living like medieval people but with glass buildings and another is living like super advanced year 3000 gods in the sky…that. to you. sounds perfectly possible and fine and plausible in every way? no faults, no problems, no massive fucking holes in logic?
Well if the Amish can use power tools, I think it’s fair to give the alternate universe space fairing knights a chance.
Maybe they’re just using the swords & bows instead of knives & guns for religious reasons or something.
Though I agree that they probably didn’t create the spaceship while they were fucking.
P.S. not the space fairing knights of old the space fairing knights of a different universe where different stuff happened.

to imagine a medieval stage of stuff, stone castles, marble, wood houses, bit of glass and lots of metal and then somebody creates a zeppelin and another person makes a motorized sewing machine and some dude just makes a car that ruins of fruit juice and nobody gives a shit or does anything is, in my world, insane and impossible.

& I was trying to talk about technology not being directly related & was disappointed when you didn’t have anything to say on that.
Unrelated tech evolving at different rates compared to ours.
I was trying to say something more along the lines of inventing a simple version of the hot air balloon while still using a hammer & chisel being a thing that could happen.

well the normal response to this is “the comics arn’t canon” but since the show has no explanation at all. The comic’s explanation if I recall correctly is that a lot of equestria’s tech was just taken from other universes.
Which doesn’t make complete sense out of the situation but it does make some sense. I’m not to sure about saying there’s no factories. I mean we haven’t seen one but I’m not sure about saying they just plain don’t have any.
I always think the weirdest part is that Flim and Flam built what is effectively a car, but still try to scam people instead of making automobiles.

how do you invent the print and press, magazines, newspapers, books of all kinds but also small delicate machines, some that rely on fluids and fluid mechanics and not have the most basic version of a pen?
a god damn tube with ink inside and a pin prick on the nib is a pen.

how does pen technology advancement directly affect zeppelins?
ponies have the technology to make movies but there is not a massive movie industry…but they have a huge print and press plus camera industry in the form of magazines and fashion.
print and press and a huge glossy magazine company but they are still using feathers with raw ink.
trains but no huge resource boom, nothing is coal powered but the train is, so they have like one or 2 mines for coal and the tech to use it but no industrial tech boom? no factorys?
coal and magic and all the tech to make zeppelins but there is no indoor electricity?
what about the fact that they have invented concrete, look at manehattan, giant skyscrapers, tarmac roads but that is not used anywhere else? and yet every building has high quality glass windows and gems are as common as dirt?
some real fucking weird history has gone down here, it is like the ponies have no drive, they invent but do not care, they have food, homes, friends so they just do not push to improve anything.

I mean projectors & candles I see the connection there at least.
That aside, we still have candles & quills. For all we know they’re just using them because they’ve always used them in the same way that most of us are still using a QWERTY keyboard layout.

Wait, I thought we were talking about how technology in Equestria isn’t the exact same as any it was in any point in history on Earth. Not about reasons Equestria should have better/more uniform technology.
