Greed is ALSO one of her vices she fights with. Despite being generous, she will often go out of her way to self serve herself. She’s done this numerous times (Dragonshy is a great example). She fights with her vices to get herself to give up on the ruby. It’s Spike who ends up giving it to her as he wants to see her happy more than he wants to eat it.

^ i will admit that it was more implied than just his dragonhood being questioned, but I felt it was fairly obvious that it was part of the problem as they had never treated him like that before or since. He also went out to hang with the teenage dragons as they were ‘more his speed’.

Yes, they were treating him like a child. But his dragonhood is not about age, it’s about what means to be a dragon (scary, fierce, you name it). His anger didn’t imply that he wanted to be treated like an older person, but that he wanted to be treated with the respect they had for other dragons.

You realize that in the 1800’s America fourteen year olds were not only put to work, but were allowed to drink, and even get married if they so wished, they were considered adults, so it’s arguable what’s always considered a child and what’s not. just saying.

He left because he didn’t like how they were treating him, they were treating him like a child. They were insulting his dragonhood by treating him like a child.

*Meaning it’s never been implied that there’s anything even remotely sexual about it, and I’m pretty sure the show would never do such a thing or intend it. Leave that to fanon.

But from what we saw, Scootaloo did most of the engineering.

Over the course of the first season I believed that the CMC were about 7-8, Spike was about 15-17 and the mane 6 were in the 20-22 range. Of course that’s assuming a human rate of aging which probably isn’t the case but makes it easier to understand.

Libido? There have been absolutely no sexual references of any kind in the show, ever. Spike has a puppy-love crush on Rarity, something that most kids start experiencing when they’re in early grade school, and the show treats it as such, not as a mature romance.

And how does any of that relate to his age. Rarity’s words were a blow against his “dragonhoodness” for him, but no mention of her treating him like a child.

This is a world where the make on your flank grants you almost instant skill in something, ‘Cutie Pox’ and Applebloom has been shown to have a great deal of skill at construction.

The very fact that he has as much responsibility and freedom as the adults, and the fact that he has any libido at all shows that he can’t be THAT young, even if he is a bit younger than the Mane six, atleast that’s how it seems to me.

I was talking more about how Rarity’s actions, which would have normally made him swoon in a pile of hearts, just made him angrier. He then later r4ejected any attempts from her to mollify his actions. Part of it is being seen as cute sure, but a lot of it is him just being dissatisfied with how he is being treated.

See my point about Spike being raised in the royal court by Celestia herself, as confirmed by word of Faust. If that is the case, then it goes to reason that he would be much more responsible than pretty much any others kids his age.

Well, we’ll just have to agree to disagree then. I think all that makes it very clear that Spike’s supposed to be a kid, and since he had been referred to as a “baby dragon” not long before SoME I don’t think he’s supposed to be a teenager. But you’re going to see it how you want to, just like I will.

Only for him to realize that he was fine with who he was at the moment. He took offense to the fact that they considered him different from other dragon’s (not fierce, but cute), not that they were treating him like a child.

I’m putting him in the 14-16 age range he just strikes me as being somewhere in there :I  
and the CMC are around 10-12 I think
