“Opening old wounds” is accurate.
Yeah that saying is accurate to an extent but in this case it’s like every time I see Twilicorn it’s akin to the saying “opening old wounds”. I can also agree that editing art without permission isn’t right.
Like the saying goes “Time heals all wounds” but I guess it’s not always true. Dumb things will always happen in any show. I don’t mind fan art of Twilight without wings despite the show canon, but I do mind wing removal edits, better commission the artist to draw Unicorn Twilight than steal and edit.
While I do agree with the idea that you shouldn’t edit someones art without their permission I would like to say that I don’t get this idea people have that we will just get over this Twilicorn nonsense just because time has passed. Every dumb thing that happens in the show will always be dumb to me. I suppose I can agree with you to some extent because myself I try to ignore her dumb wings but some drawings just really irritate me with those wings.
It’s a big deal because it’s stealing someone’s work then editing it without permission all because of an opinion, that’s what irks me.
editing peoples work without asking is the kind of stuff that makes artist DNP themselves. so yeah, it’s kind of a big deal.
I’m more surprised people make that big a deal about it.
I have no problem with Twilicorn haters nor do I praise Hasbro’s decision, but that doesn’t give you the right to edit someone else’s artwork.
It’s sad.
Weird how I keep missing that detail.
