Over the years, work or other obligations occasionally takes Cogs away from Lavender, and both count the minutes until they are reunited. This day, Cogs wings home and finds a friendly face lifted to the skies, waiting for him to join with her. Cogs backwings to a landing in front of Lavender, their eyes locked together the entire time. “Welcome home, darling,” she says softly, but with all the depth of her love for her chosen mate. He says nothing, but wraps her in his wings and shows her the passionate depths of his own love for her in ways other than words.
