true, maybe its a steam turbine design
its not a shay. Its boiler is central on the frame, the cylinders are horizontal and between the frames. And there is a driving wheel.
or heck it could be a Shay 2-truck
well yes it could. i think if i was to make an explination for this, its a single flue boiler tender engine with a very short piston rod travel
it could be a ST+T engine the like the 0-4-0ST+T narrow guarge locomotive. the british locomotive Prince is one
i think the most logical explination is that the artist had the right idea, but wasn’t fully versed on the details. I mean, it has both a coal bunker and a tender for example. Not trying to dig on the artist of course

it connects at the far end the connecting point is below the firebox and hooked to a gear box set up of rods. so it could have a 1ft at the most, or heck for all we know it could be a chain driven steam locomotive. or it could be a minimum gauge engine
yes i know that it has inside cylinders. But what im saying is that those cylinders must be incredibly short in order for there to be enough room for the cross head and the crank to connect to that main driving wheel
the cyinders could be underneath the train, i was watching Thomas and the lost treasure with my lil bro, and i sway how Thomas is set up. its in the opening bit.
