In Russia and China, not the US or Canada or UK. As far as I understand it any depiction of Homosexuality on TV (or it might just be in children’s media) in Russia and China is illegal and would be pulled from TV. Those countries make Hasbro far to much money for it to be worth it.
Yes, just friends. The fact that everyone else, inside the show and out, sees them as “friends with benefits” doesn’t have to change that.
On what basis would they pull it? It’s not like there hasn’t been any pairings like this before in TV. Would some conservatives Soccer-Moms revolt? Maybe. But since same-sex-marriage is allowed in the USA and Canada, there is no basis for this bias behavior anymore.
It has nothing at all to do with the fans in those countries and everything to do with advertisers and the TV stations. From everything I’ve heard they would pull the show from the air if Hasbro did have them be an official couple.
