So your argument is actually “Wicked doesn’t have enough creepy fanart”? I like that kind of argument.
 
Wicked is one of those characters that people see what they want to see in, and I encourage them to. Some people have drawn her monstrous, some draw her cute, and some draw her sexy. The people who uploaded my older work never uploaded some of the other “boring” stuff with Wicked shapeshifting into inanimate objects, or looking freakier than normal by growing extra mouths and eyes, or splitting into multiple bodies, or being “perfectly fine” after being dismembered. I imagine her as less of a pony and more of a pony shell for a writhing mass of horror.
 
As to questions of eldritch abominability, other than by bad OCs, Wicked is inspired by satanic imagery and there are Lovecraftian references littered throughout my pictures. She’s an actual eldritch abomination whereas Thingpone is just a ponified version of the Thing, which is an alien with an animal logic to its actions rather than a magical c’thonic entity bent on mindfuckery. Ultimately Thingpone has a limit in the ways you can interpret it, whereas Wicked has none.
 
Really the question of “What makes the best nightmare fuel?” isn’t answerable by pointing to a character, but to the artist behind said image. Even if in theory Wicked is freakier than Thingpone she’ll never be considered nightmare fuel over her because I’ve spent my time drawing her creepily sexy instead of just horrifically, and I’m fine with that. Similarly, Thingpone is certainly creepier in theory than any canon pony, but the best nightmare fuel I’ve seen in the fandom has been done of Chrysalis or even of less obvious characters like Celestia and Twilight.
