That’s… reassuring.
It’s a rock formation.
Let’s be fair, Dash can be a bit hot-headed under the best of circumstances, so saying she should calm down is a bit like saying Pinkie Pie should take something seriously.
Thank you. ^^
Heh. You’re funny.
Ah. Gotcha.
no, he’s just now getting this.
if dash hadn’t got up in his grill and threatened him with the truth, he’d be perfectly reasonable to think that they just got pork skewered in the good way, in the bad way. but she did, and with one sentence, silenced his rage, even if she didn’t realize that her honesty would do that. she truly is the bearer of the element of honesty <3
And that’s why AJ is best pony.
JK
but not really a JK either.
Exactly, what AJ is doing.
@Vaidelot
Who said anything about letting their guard down? I’m just saying attacking first is not always a good idea. AJ is being cautious, and I would think that she is probably sizing him up combat-wise.
You’re just now getting this?
@thps48
And in that case, not prioritizing it could potentially swing around and bite them. Mares in the last town didn’t seem any more tolerant than the stallions were.
oh god
I was going to mention any town in the Equestrian Southwest, but then I remembered this is their very first trip to Little Rock. Or Salem. Apologies, I don’t know any overly racist cowboy towns for some reason as opposed to cowboy towns who just hate Indians. XD
Well, the problem with fighting any guerilla (and Ku-Klux-Klan could definitely considered to be one) is that one newer could be sure who’s your friend and who.. not so. So, I believe that our heroes here should act like, say, American soldiers who just came to peacefully looking Vietnam village. Maybe it’s inhabitant looks friendly, but you could newer know how much of them are actually disguised enemy troops! So, trust is good and all, but it is not actually a good time to let your guard down!
This sort of thing wouldn’t be a priority if he were a mare, I could imagine… Well, or smaller. If he actually looked like a gay stallion. XD
In an emergency situation you don’t have much of a choice but to trust someone but it’s still best to be observant of them.
AJ is acting how I would think most would be. Cautious and observant. While I can say that I don’t blame Dash, at the same cursing the evil townsfolk, and showing concern are things that you pick up on if you wait.
@Pagan
Agreed, but at the same time in emergency situations there is a need for at least a little trust in people willing to help.
I agree trust must be earned not freely given.
Well, he may seem like this… but who knows what his real intentions are… They are on hostile territory now and that mean they can’t fully trust ANYBODY. Being a part of what is essentially the closest thing to RL military forces in canon, Dash seem to understand it very good…
Here’s the thing
that explanation was acceptable in the last page
but this guy clearly hates the ponyfolk in muddy creek
and, in the next to last panel, he’s visibly concerned with what happened to them
@Zeyon
What do you two mean? They were just ambushed and attacked! Dash just being properly paranoid here. Better safe than sorry…
