Yeah, the site was slow. Was I annoyed by it? Yes. You know what I did? I found something else to do while the Admin team here took care of the problems ‘cause I know they keep a close eye on things. Because they care.
 
TSP not only states that money is an issue but also time. We have to be patient, ladies and gentlemen. A lot of TLC goes into implementing something like this even if you were paid to do it. These guys do it for free and, I assume, out of love for all things pony.
 
There’s an IRC channel for this kind of thing, click on the “contact” link at the bottom of the page for more info. There’s always an Admin there to answer questions.
 
As for advertising, I have no issue with a couple of reasonable ads. Maybe the Admins could consider running a quick survey of the user base?

I’ll disagree with that, Ponibooru was like a good old reliable hammer, good for most istuations, kind of limited, and when it broke it broke completely. Also, fixing it wasn’t a good idea, but hey, it’s a hammer.
 
This? This is a jackhammer prototype. It has to get broken. It needs funding. And, more importantly, it can be better than your hammer while still needing more maintenance. And hell, they have made it work despite still being a prototype.
 
These people aren’t doing better, they are doing things in a whole different level.

C’mon Guys, give ‘em some credit! This sight works really well 90% of the time! They’re doing their best, and they’re certainly doing better than Ponibooru as far as errors go!

Hell, you don’t need to make it have sparks and a pony hanging from it. Just have it somewhere I don’t have to scroll all the way down and then confuse it with the rest of the mumbo-jumbo I rarely look at, if at all.

We don’t make the donate button very obvious because we don’t like being all HEY HEY GUYS IT COSTS SHITLOADS TO RUN THIS PLACE HEY all over the place. We sometimes run little drives where we stick a link under images. We’re making it somewhat more obvious in some places in the new design.

I for one look forwards to the crashes, because Derpy is absolutely adorable and I can look at her for a few seconds while I wait.

Also, adverts sounds like a perfectly justifiable thing, things living off donations normally don’t survive unless you blitz people for money (offer silly things for it, people are willing to pay for dumb things more than they are willing to donate even if it will save their lives).
