I’ve sat here for several minutes trying to think of how to reply, but as I sit here thinking, that one sentence rings through my head. I sit here and I realize, no matter how small of a thing it is, it’s still a reference. The image may be the most vile thing I’ve ever seen on this site, but it’s a reference. No attention may be drawn to it, it may have even been an after thought, but it’s a reference.  
I still think the site would be better off without it, but I can see why it’s still here.  
I didn’t really intend to defend the memes, I just thought there were images more deserving of being canned.  
But, as disgusting as it is, it does have a reason to still be here.  
Typing this is killing me. I feel sick defending that image in any way but…  
Eh. Heck with it, I’m still thinking of what else to say but I better post this before I decide to just drop out of the discussion.

A building with MLP graffiti? We actually might want to see that graffiti.  
A furry OC with a cutie mark? Hey, they didn’t put the cutie mark on just to be able to say “LOOK GUYS IT IS PONY RELATED”, they actually went and included some pony stuff into their art.  
A random image that had nothing to do with ponies, but now has Lyra pasted over it? That’s just using an excuse to try to post it here.
 
We are a booru for pony stuff; you can’t just make a pony stuff stock sticker and slap it on everything you want to be pony stuff.
 
 
Hypothetically, imagine a fishbooru. Fish-related images only. One day, someone gets the bright idea to take a few images of salmon, combine them with images of literally anything else, up to and including furry porn, and then people start posting that. Famous actor died? Salmon on top, actor on the bottom. Nintendo announces a Metroid game? Salmon on top, Nintendo logo in the middle, Metroid:Game you didn’t want on bottom.  
Do you really think fishbooru shouldn’t do anything?

No it gets to stay because it actually has something to do with ponies. non-pony related stuff is when the ponies are clearly just slapped on without any care.
 
So on this board, a building with a meme crudely thrown on top would be non-pony related. However, a building with mlp on it (like, say, graffiti), would be pony related.

It may be an original image, but keeping it just because it happens to have a cutie mark in it? It’s not even like focus is put on it, it’s just there. There’s not even an actual pony in it! It wouldn’t even be surprising if a lot of people missed it when they first saw it. Simply slapping a cutie mark on something randomly doesn’t make it pony related.
