Like, what’s even the point of having ’em there? Unicorns use their magic, then.. just.. ;-;
I ate 16 permas on ponychan in the week after it aired, I am a dedicated mofo!
But hey, score one for anon boards, it’s not like they’ll ever know I’m still evading now that I’ve come back after mlp went down the shitter during the scruffening.
one of the worst episodes
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Twas expecting this with clones and Gala/Lesson Zero callbacks
Instead
Got this with the entire cast played by
shame they don’t fight with them in clever ways anymore
I’ve never seen an executive mandate to have something as schmaltzy and by-the-numbers as a two-part royal wedding season finale special event carried out with one tenth of one percent of the terrifying bug horse invasion badassery of A Canterlot Wedding.
…Also “emergency edible boots” is never going to stop being one of the funniest gorram toyetic mandates ever animated.
It’d be funny to hear ponies complaining about how ‘all this cheap barely usable crap only ever seems to come out of griffonstone’ or some such. Or maybe post-S1 they started trading gems to the diamond dogs for household items, but diamond dogs never seem to get that no fingers part.
It’s apparently something Faust Herself argued with Hasbro about a lot; she wanted the place to be completely horse-centric, with as little Human ephemera as possible. The train in Over A Barrel (and the OP) was originally just cars being pulled by engineer stallions, for example, but Hasbro wanted something identifiably locomotive-like to sell toys of, so the designers just stuck a dadgum steam locomotive on the front and had that being pulled by engineer stallions.
I just fall back on my default headcanon position of this being a cartoon about Equestria told from a Human point of view, not an accurate portrayal of actual Equestria; like the way the old Warner Bros. cartoons weren’t exactly a realistic portrayal of Wartime and Post-War America.
That really is a thing that has bothered me in this show. So many items that are clearly to be used with hands and not with hooves. Of course we already know that ponies in Equestria have super adhesive hooves that can hold pretty much anything like that but even then it doesn’t make sense to have things where you are supposed to put your finger through something or like that.
Damn you animators. I know it’s extra work but create some more pony items instead of just putting human items in. This is serious business after all.
…They still have an awful lot of household stuff that doesn’t really make sense for people with hooves, though. Like, shouldn’t hammers just be solid-soled iron shoes? Shouldn’t doorknobs all be handles isntead?
you’ve just inspired my next piece cx
I know it’s not helpful in this situation, but still…
