Well, these are the background characters. They’re supposed to be interestingly one-note, not nuanced like the main characters, and any extra depth comes from fan interpretation.

I have a nostalgia for the simpler days of just getting to know the characters, like fluttershy squeaking out her name to twilight. contrast that simple dialogue to this and you will see where I’m coming from.
