Well at first: Discord only brought chaos, but was banished somehow by one of the lands he brought it to. This gave them time to think as he blocked the Enterprise D. After that, he thought how good it would feel if he taught lessons along with bringing chaos. The more you did it with the ponies, the better he doing it with the Enterprise crew. Every Q episode teaches the Enterprise crew a lesson, as the same Discord teaches the mane six a lesson.
My god. . .it all makes sense now!
