Whoa, I didn’t noticed that conversation. Last time when I asked to Baekgu like this:“Is that a dog paw?” and the answer was “Dog paw is cute! ^^” so I just thought ‘Oh that’s dog’s.’. What an idiot I am HaHa XD
I’ll apologize for my aggresive reply comment. Sorry :) What a shame ///_///

Baekgu’s name and the pony has nothing to do with the cutie mark.
I know what Baekgu means. I’m Korean.
But Baekgu said it themselves on twitter to ELUSiVE on April 16th, “샤이랑 비슷하게 동물친화계예여 큐티마크는 분홍색 고양이 발바닥 모양입니다” meaning “she’s friendly with animals like Fluttershy, her cutie mark is a pink cat paw”.

Well, a follower on twitter named her for Mr/Ms.Baekgu.
And according to those tweets, this OC is like Fluttershy in which her talent is taking care of animals or is friendly with all animals. That’s why her cutie mark is a cat paw print.
And according to the recent tweets, this guy named “ELUSiVE” made a chart explaining how the name came about.

The OC was just dubbed “Baekgu pony”.
So, he took “pony” or in Korean “포니” and split the letters,
into 포 and 니.
And he took 포 (pronounced po but in Korean it could also be fo) and 니 (ni) did this.
포->Four->사(Sa; Korean for four)
니->Ni (Japanese for 2)
And then he combined the two, Sa and Ni, which turned to “Sani” and thus got “Sunny”.

And as for “daze”, he got
Sunny days -> Days and Daze -> Daze on sunny days.

And thus combined Sunny and Daze to make Sunny Daze.
Quite convoluted, yes, but Baekgu likes it.
