also, discord is the sprit of chaos and disharmony, he and antagonise of both, yet him being friends with the mane 6 negates the disharmony part, he’s still chaos
order and harmony are not the same thing, order is a force that maintains a system throe control and maintenance by stricken means, harmony is the balance of all things, both light and dark and order and chaos
the opposite of discord are the elements of harmony, or maybe if you will the glowing alicorn horse thing from rainbow rocks.
I doubt it would happen, but it would be neat if they were to reveal that Starlight was the one behind it after all.
I vote for the next villain to be a spirit of order, like Discord’s opposite and rival
Well, Starlight Glimmer is a powerful mage, so it’s not impossible to think she infiltrated Apple Bloom’s dreams with a spell. Considering she’s Applejack’s sister (one of the ponies that ruined Starlight’s little equality town) and well known for her cutie-mark-getting antics, it’s not unreasonable to think Starlight heard about these ‘Cutie Mark Crusaders’ while scoping out Ponyville for a means to get even with Twilight and company, and chose to torment Apple Bloom to, in turn, torment Applejack.

I actually had a similar idea but instead of it an Eldritch like creature, it was somepony who didn’t have a cutie mark. Why? Because his/her actual power would be pretty much a passive, always-on version of Kamijou Touma’s Image Breaker, capable of stopping ALL magic including Tree of Harmony and Discord. This character would be in a similar situation that the other ponies from the equal town were. And he/she would somehow team up with her as a Woobie that is also for revenge.
‘What is this, ‘Cutie Marks Get Removed, The Season’?’ were my immediate thoughts.
