Just a friendly reminder from me to you. I hope you can respect it as much as I respect you.
fucking keke
>Expecting people with differing opinions to ever listen.
Then thank you. This is meant to just be a friendly reminder and nothing more. I moved it to the forums upon being asked to as well. :)
@Psyga315
Ah, Even easier.
It works because TS is implied with PT.
I might also add that it’s part of this site’s administration’s legislation that for this generation of the pony sensation we should tag the princessification.
Boom.
It’s a two letter abbreviation that eliminates a lot of aggravation for a not insignificant population of the group to which we all belong.
That’s all the argument that should be needed.
Twilight Sparkle has been an alicorn for 787 days. She was a unicorn for 853 days. So basically she’s been an alicorn now as long as she was ever a unicorn. Although if you want to be completely pedantic then on June 12, 2015, a mere 66 days from now and within the run of the current season, she will have been an alicorn exactly as long as she was a unicorn. And every day thereafter, she will have been an alicorn longer than she was ever a unicorn. More importantly, she is an alicorn. And she will never not be an alicorn again. Twilight Sparkle is alicorn Twilight Sparkle, and alicorn Twilight Sparkle is the Twilight Sparkle. The tag that denotes alicorn Twilight Sparkle is “twilight sparkle.” It makes no sense to double-tag almost every new picture containing Twilight, and every new screencap containing Twilight, in perpetuity, just to enable ongoing drama. The number of existing pictures of Twilight as a unicorn is finite, and the number of new pictures of her as an unicorn will dwindle. The number of pictures with her as an alicorn will rise steadily over time. Alicorn Twilight is the default, and unicorn Twilight is the variant that needs to be tagged differently if anyone even cares to. Even aside from nobody should even care to since Twilight is an alicorn now and always will be an alicorn in the future, and remaining in the fandom without getting used to it is asinine. It’s like being allergic to bees but poking sticks into hives for a hobby.
Trying to argue that the existence of the “princess twilight” tag is a reason to use it is circular logic, and invalid. “Princess twilight” is far from the only stupid tag here. Just my next favorite example, they also alias “stormwalker” to “cloudchaser” despite the fact that “stormwalker” is not a pony that has ever appeared in the show or in any medium. It was a caption error in one, and only one, book. And if they some day do give us a Stormwalker, it’s pretty much guaranteed she won’t be Cloudchaser, because Cloudchaser is already Cloudchaser. So if we some day get an actual Stormwalker, we’ll wind up with a clusterf&%# where there are several thousand images of Cloudchaser double-tagged with the wrong name showing up every time someone wants to find a totally different pony named Stormwalker. Or someone has to go through and fix thousands of mistagged images. Or we have to tag a show character as “real stormwalker” while leaving the “stormwalker” name on the wrong pony. So no, “there’s a tag for it” doesn’t mean the tag should be used.
Thank you, sir. It’s always nice to see a reasonable face around here.
DB’s tagging system is fairly comprehensive; the goal here is to allow people to find or filter exactly what they’re looking for–or looking to avoid. FIMFiction may do things differently, but here we tag ships (“rarijack”), alternate forms (“sunset satan”), younger versions (“woona”), cute versions (“dashabetes”), well-endowed versions (“hootershy”), and, yes, alicorn versions (“pinkiecorn”). And when a particular alicorn tag is so in-demand that it has its own two-letter abbreviation, the respectful thing is to TAG YOUR SHIT.
And I say this as someone who loves Princess Bookhorse.
>2015
I shilight twilight
Your opinion is interesting. We do tag maid outfit.
If we have to tag Twilight Sparkle as an alicorn with ‘Princess Twilight Sparkle’ then we have to tag everyone wearing a maid outfit as ‘Maid Rainbow Dash’ if you catch what I’m getting at.
Fimfiction done away with the differentiation of Twilight Sparkle’s stages of life a long time ago, we should too.
Well, thank you very much, sir. I’ll go do that right now. :)
You are exactly the kind of person we need here. Thank you.
Oh, I have no complaints at all with your post here (except, as Zincy pointed out, it’s better suited to the forums); those are just general reminders.
@Northern
I’m not terribly familiar with the forums myself, to be honest; instinct tells me “Site related” would be the best place, but I’d check out the current topics there to make sure this seems appropriate.
Well, given that this has now become relevant and has discussion on it, at the very least I could leave it up as a reminder to myself not to post stuff like this here. Incidentally, where do you think I should even post this in the forums? Site related? General discussion?
I think I’ve accomplished both of your requests here. :)
Alicorn Drama was the first tag I’ve added, and I don’t even know if this post qualifies as drama.
Forgive me if you already know this, but just in case you don’t know, you can always use the “Report this image” link to ask the admins to take down something you post. It may take a little while, depending on how busy they are, but it should get done.
Erm.. yes? I would like to be as accommodating as is reasonable to the site policy and unspoken user agreements.
Normally I’d say something about not calling supporters of Princess Twilight “Hasdrones” or saying they’re helping ruin the show, but there’s a lot less of that now than there was in the past, I suspect because most of the people being that hostile have moved on (either to other fandom sites or out of the fandom altogether). So, yes, it’s time for the pro-princess side to step up their game and respect those they disagree with.
dude, are you serious with this post?
facehoof Ugh… I forgot you can’t delete your own posts here. I don’t post often on Derpibooru.
Alright. Deleting. Thanks for the respect, sir.
You’ll get more responses from people in the forum, and the thread will linger longer. This picture however will just sink into the aether where no one will see it. Granted, a forum post will also attract more debate, as is the way of the forums.
True enough. Perhaps deleting it would be for the best. I’ll let you decide, friend. Should I?
