Actually, I bet Rumble was just on the list of “Names that are safe to use” like Star Swirl or Sunshower.

Yeah, and that. I know the Japanese dub switched Rumble and Frenzy around. Don’t know about any others that did. Figured most folks would be most familiar with the original cartoon.
Though that too depends on the dub.
But really I just felt like that whole ordeal needed to be mentioned.

That depends on which continuity. The G1 cartoon made it clear Rumble was the purple one.
It should be noted that there’s a lot of confusion over which one is Rumble & which is Frenzy.
“Rumble” is also the name of Frenzy’s purple twin. The artist is messing with us by having him and the little pegasus be one and the same.
And it’s amusing.
Because Rumble is also the name of a G1 Decepticon that was Frenzy’s “brother” unit and that’s the joke.
They were part of Soundwave’s personal cassete army formed by Rumble, Frenzy, Laserbeak, Buzzaw, Ratbat and the list goes on and on.
