Braeburn is a big influence, like it or not in the fandom. So is though lot of other things and that’s mostly how fandom really, really likes stereotypes.
Every character is made out to be straight and gay and bi and so forth by the fandom. Even characters with canon ships.
Competent characters with character appeal to people, so those characters get shipped more. No surprises there.
