when they were both much younger, albeit this art does not seem to take that into account. celestia grew much stronger over the years, luna to a degree too.

So, if Luna was S2-styled at the time they defeated Discord, and at the time Nightmare Moon was banished (for 1000 years), and if the Crystal Empire vanished for 1000 years and only reappeared after Luna’s return, why is Luna S1 styled here?

It took both Celestia and Luna to banish him…  
And to think Shining attempted to take him on a thousand years later…

And the darkness actually ties into the story! And it happens to characters that we actually care about instead of boring Gary Stus! (Looking at you, Goodbra, YOUR EVIL HALF MANAGED TO BE MORE INTERESTING AND SYMPATHETIC THAN YOU, YOU FUCKING SUCK!)

wrong, he got his revenge of her, his final line in the diary was “what good is in victory if you don’t have a place to return?”, his revenge was turn her into the last crystal pony and live the rest of her life without her friends and family.

He never got to enact his revenge, so I assume that she just died alone and forgotten. Her entire people reduced to slaves, then left to oblivion, and her friend turned into a merciless monster hellbent on destroying equestria.
