I suppose that some groups or indivuals probaly do exist with such a childish hate that they would fit such a term as “hater” but when someone like Miley Cyrus uses the term to apparently refer to those critiquing her “life style” it becomes a term of immaturity. One to dehumanized your critics. Obama has “haters”,singers who think spiky underwear and toung shots is a style needs to understand that’s gonna attract some ire from people who have some very diffrent views of what makes good music.

Well you know as well as I do we have a lot of people who hate on us, and the term “anti-brony” is f*cking stupid, so the word “hater” fits best.

I always had the mind that the word “haters” was a somewhat childish term.  
The word brings up the idea of some bitter ingnoraant fool who hates everything and constantly judges other negatively and is constrained by some sort of “hate mindset” and maybey their are people like this.  
But from what I’ve seen of its usage It s a term used by those who can’t take critism of themsleves and morph anyone who’s they think is judging them or has a negative perspective of what they think or do As a “hater”.  
Like a toddler calling his mother a “bad person” for not letting him watch T.V.
