@Background Pony #636D
Looks like he had a specific story he wanted to tell and just forced the characters to fit it, rather than having a theme he wanted to explore and having the characters interact with it.
Class exercise: come up with a better cyberbullying-themed storyline using the EqG characters. Shouldn’t be too hard.
@Derpie Pie
You know, the sad thing is that Twilight in this comic acts a lot more smarter than how she’s being portrayed in the current IDW arc.
That’s because Price and Cook only care for jokes, their bastardization of characters being done for the purpose of a punchline or reference. Here it’s mostly for the plot to “work”, but it forces lots of OOC moments and really unfortunate implications.
If any clue, seems like the school HASN’T forgiven Sunset EVEN after saving their asses, and only looks for every chance to pick on her again, and if proven innocent, not even care to apologize. Just forget and wait for the next time they can make her life miserable.
P.D. HOW IS THIS THE SAME TED ANDERSON WHO WROTE THE TRIXIE ARC (you know, where they Actually trusted Trixie even though she was blamed) AND THE CELESTIA & SPIKE FF (again, where Celestia was portrayed as the wise and caring leader and teacher she’s meant to be, and Spike as a loving “brother” and capable living being)?!
@Beau Skunky
Honestly, the previous Anderson drama was more pleasant than this thing. I didn’t care much about his not-firing (or not-re-hiring), but by now it’s clear that he’s really awful at his job.
I said it before, I say it again, this comic is essentially downplaying the very issue it (supposedly) tries to make aware of.
Also, I think it’s normal to sympathize with a bullying victim. Even if it’s pretty cheaply done like here.
Actually, when you think about it, this comic is worse than Ponyville Confidential.
In the episode, the CMC were at least pressured and blackmailed by Diamond Tiara to keep releasing secrets. They had something to lose if they stopped.
In this comic, they’re doing it out of jealousy. They have no pressure to do it, they’re just fucking bullies.
Six months detention isn’t enough, these little brats should be expelled.
What the actual fudge?
The hell did the CMC write about Fluttershy to make her so upset?
And why will AJ not even give Sunset a chance to explain herself?
But later, she’s all like “You’re family” to Apple Bloom?
The actual fudge?!
@PonyPon
Oh yes, I just say that constantly… :P
Whateve’. Maybe I’ll stop repeating myself, if you stop getting on others’ cases so much over minor things.
Depends on if you consider being “Emo” an improvement. J/K :P
Boy, I remember back before even the first EqG movie came out, fans were more passive about Sunset back when she was a villain calling her a “lame cliche’ boring alpha-bitch”-type, bashing her, and such constantly.
Yet, surprisingly, now fans are sympathizing with her ever sense the sequel turned her into a “woobie” character, and are quite upset over how she was treated in this issue.
I haven’t read it yet, so I can’t really have much opinion on it overall.
@Psyga315
Let’s not bring up the “Anderson drama” again please… There’s already enough drama over this issue as it is without focusing on that.
