You shoulndn’t blame Pinkie for the writers’ incompetence. You SHOULD be looking at her as a victim of said incompetence.

Still, nine times out of ten, strife between people is caused by their differences. Eliminating differences creates the textbook dystopia, but I believe that in an ideal society, it would be perfectly okay to not answer personal questions unless there’s a valid reason for them to be asked beyond “just curious.”
I meant figurately. I can barely lift groceries, I’m never getting in a fight if I can help it. XD
Okay, so she doesn’t really have a gimmick. She’s still at least got a bit of depth, unlike, say, Trixie. Or Twilight since she became a two-eyed one-horned flying purple pony leader and stopped doing most of the things that made her special (season 5, please fix this)
Also, you and I handle disagreements very differently. I prefer not to speak my mind unless I can do it in relative anonymity. Nobody who can see my face needs to know I disagree. I don’t want to get beat up.
Everyone has that trait. Someone tells you they hate stuff you like: FiM, Xenoblade, Star Trek, your family, your country, Broadway. What do you do? Beat them up. In most cases, of the range of emotions one experiences, that one is or is near stubbornness.
She’s also stubborn, if that counts.
Fluttershy has two quirks, as you’ve outlined, but Applejack has one: Appulu; canonically, to reiterate. Fanonically, her character is given far more depth in certain iterations. No examples come to mind, but I can’t help but think of DrawPonies. :)
I never said I don’t like Fluttershy, just that it’s interesting how her two facets are so different.
…And what did Applejack do to get on your bad side? At the very least, she was more interesting than Twilight’s been this past season. (I miss Neurotic Twilight.)
