My headcanon is that the griffin king is in charge of wind. Essentially he’s an Airbender.

I personally have griffons with something called the Griffon’s Cry. It’s magic based around sonics. They can create huge concussive force, shape sound into lances, create walls of sound, destroy things with destructive harmonics, inspire allies, etc. Some are better than others, but the smallest bit of it is seen when Gilda blows Fluttershy away with her own cry.
