Makes sense. You can’t run energy through a severed conduit, a broken antenna sends no signal, and pain is a nasty neural white noise.
 
Though I imagine that if the spell is self-sustained, attacking the horn that cast it would be pointless.

It’s just sorta been a headcanon of mine that damage to a Unicorn’s horn dispels any currently active magic effects they’re generating.

Nothing, because it’s not possible. The chances of Twilight asking a living creature out are so abysmally low, it would violate the laws of mathematical probability.
 
Grabs her by the horn
 
Magic dispels, “twilight” reverts to true changeling form
 
Awkward silence
 
Gives changeling little ear scratch and says “sure”.

My heart would stop beating and I would be frozen in confusion, excitement, disbelief, and shock. Then after at least 10 seconds I would say, “Sure. Why not! :D”
