understood, from now on I will stop putting that tag on my art
I feel your pain, but maybe I can explain it better from an impartial view.
The point of the tags is to help people find similar pictures. If they see a picture they like that shows Twilight with Socks on a Bed wearing a Saddle, they can search for those terms and find related images. Or maybe someone has a vore fetish involving Pinkie Pie photo’s drawn in black and white. Well, they can search for those tags and get exactly what they want.
Likewise with the artist tag. Someone might really love a particular piece of work, or some particular style, so they will use the tag to search for more pics drawn by the same artist. Tags are a useful feature that helps people track SIMILAR IMAGES.
But if you commissioner multiple kinds of arts… Uh, there’s no correlation between the commissions. To put it another way, there’s nothing intrinsic about all your commissions that warrant a tag grouping them together for searches. To put it yet another way, while you may deserve credit, a search tag is meaningless for the site because it doesn’t describe any part of the photo. It’s not an art style, or an artist’s technique, or a fetish, or a character, or a scenario. Literally no one would get anything out of that tag, other than “the following photos were paid for by DARVIdD2”. Which, while is nice to know, is not a basis for anyone’s image search.
———–
In any case, custom says that if you want to take credit for ownership or commission status, all those details may be on full display in any or all of the following:
-the Details Box below the photo.
-the Source link below the photo.
-in the photo itself, written in a watermark on the border.
I don’t mean to make this personal, and I love my fellow commissioners, I’m just trying to explain the customs to you. It’s just not normal to make search tags for commissioners, that’s all. We didn’t just make up these rules, it’s all been that way on nearly all image forums and boorus for decades now.
Generally we don’t tag the commissioner, just the artist. You kind of ARE “just the commissioner”. It’s not your art.
I felt that having spent my own money out of pocket to ensure the creation of the art that I deserved at least some credit, however if you think it is that important I suppose I can stop tagging my art with darvidd2 and justanothermeal
apologies, I didn’t mean it that way. it’s just that it seems to me that having a commissioner tag is of dubious usefulness in searching for images here. and I’m pretty sure commissioners aren’t tagged on any other images, either. if they were, we’d have a lot more tags around here.
don’t get me wrong, I love a lot of the vore art you’ve commissioned, and I’m glad you’re doing it. You’re a credit to the vore community(and I’m being completely serious here).
but tagging consistency is important on a booru. If we don’t have commissioner tags anywhere else, then I’m not sure we should have them here.
yes I am “just” the commissioner, though it kind of hurts to hear it put that way
