I love how over the top this comment is. not sarcastically, I find it fantastic.
What I want to know is, based on that caption, what reaction am I supposed to have? Humor? I have literally never met a soul who would find that fucking funny. Am I supposed to find it cute? Because I don’t. At all. In any way, shape or form.
Maybe its the sort of thing where you need whatever brain damage actually having kids inflicts on otherwise sane people which causes them to accost people with “adorable” stories about their kids doing utterly mundane things, but there is nothing I can see here but irritating, twee nonsense. This cartoon is the visual equivalent of getting a popcorn kernel stuck between your teeth.
I’d also like to ask what in the hell is wrong with whichever Keane drew this abortion that they can’t be assed to finish the kid’s goddamn forehead. This isn’t fudging some gaps to make hair look like hair, this is just abruptly abandoning the outline of her head, possibly as a way to point out the head injury that is the only explanation for that dumb goddamn caption.
There’s something about that circle that draws your eyes to it.
Sure it’s not a very funny comic strip, but I think it’s kinda cute sometimes, and not the “abomination” some are making it out to be.
You called?
Don’t you mean keriT?
Because I a man of archaic tastes I do still read newspapers, including the comics section, and every time I see a Family Circus cartoon I can feel it actively draining happiness from my body, leaving only blind, unfocused hate in its wake.
