IIRC (from the author comment about 2~3 years ago)  
-Pinkie killed Dash during the cupcackes incident.  
-Dash revived (hence the scars) with black magic and seeks revenge for what pinkie did to her.  
-Dash finds out that the source of pinkies madness was somethin within her eyes and didn’t know what was doing.  
-Dash removed Pinkie’s eyes, Pinkie returns to normal, Dash forgives her.  
-With leftovers from reurrection magic Dash inpregnates Pinkie as final punishment.

So daughter, if you make your mommy Pinkie angry, you’re going to pass the rest of your life as a pretty cupcake, which by the way isn’t going to be a long time.
 
But if you survive to adolescence, I’ll be waiting for you in the flying academy. Where in if you fail the last exam, I’m going to give you a nice visit to my fabric, in which you’re going to become a pretty nice and colorful rainbow.
 
I don’t envy this filly…
