A happy day, a victory over evil… Now just a fleeting hope. A sweet dream.
Wake up, my friends.
Wake up or sleep forever.
The conquering is coming, and you are not prepared.

Even better thing:
A Hero that responds with an even better taunt.
…Or not, depends whether you prefer villains or heroes.
Villain taunts that are actually fucking awesome and make you go “oh, snap!”
Go back to your NetCafes, and your douchy plaid shirts, and your thick frame glasses, Hipster!
More likely its a fairly common idea to encase things in crystal or use crystal to somehow dampen magic. I’m sure I wasn’t the first guy to write about crystallized horns in this fandom.
In other words, you’re a hipster.
…Or at least rig them to explode once they came near her.
Do keep in mind, if Sombra had won, he’d have the Mane Six under his control. He could probably use them as a bargaining chip to lower Celestia’s defenses, or at least rig them to explode once she came near her.
If you notice Discord needs to mindgame, he can’t just up and fool people by transforming into one of their friends, all his transformations retained his real facial features. He’s stronger magically than Chryssy, but too much a joker to go all-out conquest.
If she would actually apply herself instead of focusing on petty revenge/antagonism I think Chrysalis would be the most dangerous of the four. Sombra’s citizens seemed none too happy with his rule, so they would likely not perform well in aiding his conquest, even under threat of torture or death. So Sombra would have to go it alone for the most part when it came to standing up to Equestria’s heroines and their guards.
Sombra could have won the day but he would have had to deal with an unruly populace, so he would have gotten knocked over eventually anyway.
Honestly, I’d say Sombra was the most competent villain, if only because his defeat was 100% out of his hands.
Then again, the deck was just stacked against him, he couldn’t do shit until the very end of the episode, where the ponies already had everything in place to foil his plans.
I thought her plan was going pretty well till Twilight Sparkle and Cadence came in to expose her,
she never meant to revel herself and only did so once he disguise was compromised. She was probably going to keep on marauding as Cadence while subtly “influencing” Shining Armor and the Equestria government to lax security measures to let more changelings sneak in and allow changelings already disguised as ponies of power to rise higher in the hierarchy, gaining more control of it all subtly.
If celestia or Luna noticed ,she might have either taken them out subtly through a magic poising and replacement with a changeling and form a government completely controlled by Changeling Parasites or just confront them when filled with such a massive amount of love from her façade and just take over Equestria thought the subtle approach is more likely.
My guess for why she didn’t kill Twilight and instead locked her in the cavern is because she wanted to rid herself of the only pony who suspected her and could have figured out her plan later and was probably going to replace her after the wedding(as shining didn’t want her there) with another drone but of course Chrysalis did plan poorly in not securing them in the cavern and only using a token fore of three hypnotized mares to guard them(perhaps she was going to suck the immense love and magic they both had for herself later as it is implied she could in the comic)
and as for why her Changeling army was already there…I guess they were hiding somewhere in the mountain or something(perhaps some of them were already disguised as royal guards, which would explain why the guard was defeated so easily)and in the time form when chrysalis exposed herself and pointed them out she sent a command through the “hive mind” to attack!
So yeah …I guess it could have gone well had it not been for her arrogance at the end.
Pretty much. That’s a good analogy.
@Chrysalislover
Chrysalis pretty much was the ‘end in sight’ kind of villain.
Step 1: Gather army
Step 2: Get inside Canterlot
Step 3:….Eh
Step 4: TOTAL DOMINATION!
She pretty much did everything on the fly and hoped for the best, when in actuality, it hindered her plan.
Her plan in the comic, while handled better, was still flawed. {Drain Twilight…When the unicorn is at her most powerful…That backfired rather quickly.}
Unlike Sombra, who had pretty much everything planned forthright, in case someone tried to get the Crystal Heart. If not for Spike, he would have won. {He probably would have lost against the two sisters, but he would have beaten the main six and Cadance.}So he lost because of things out of his control and he had no idea of.
Discord, on the other hand, was beaten by his own overconfidence. Yes, his plan was better and gave him a swift conclusion, but when confronted by the reharmonized main six, he didn’t stop to think they could beat him, even letting them activate the Elements. {I’m assuming that once activated, you can’t stop them.}
All in all, all three villains were close to winning, if not for their individual weaknesses. {Discord overconfidence, Chrysalis’s poor planning skills, and Sombra just had bad luck.}
@441TheSecond
Fair point. As much as I love Chrissy, if you want my honest opinion, the smartest/most competent villain was probably Discord, if you notice just how far ahead he planned things. Chrissy, on the other hand, almost struck me as a bit reckless. A master of deception, but reckless once that part of the plan ended.
I know this fandom absolutely loves the bug and for some reason consider her the smartest and most competent villain, but let’s not offload the things of other villains on to her.
