The only arguement of Kwark’s I can truly agree on is the fact that there’s a fast-food restaurant in Ponyville. Let me explain:
 
You see, according to canon, Ponyville is portrayed as a Rural Community, hence-why they have places like Sugar Cube Corner and hold a street market. Think of it as a medieval village or an Amish neighborhood.  
Now if the Hayburger Restaurant was built in a place like, say, Manehatten, then it would make sense. Why? Because cities are Urban Communities, and civilians living there are more adapted to such locations as a fast-food joint.

Since said products don’t directly harm animals, it’s technically vegan.
 
Mind you, if vat grown meat overtakes regular meat, that would eventually spell culling for livestock.
