This reminds me of the Adventure Time episode, Dream of Love. In it Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig are in love, but everybody are disgusted by it.

Basically Twilight is Tree Trunks, Flash is Mr. Pig, and all the Flash haters are the disgusted candy people.
