The Rarity one…I only sort of get. I mean, the whole generosity thing was fine, but I think Rarity would have a bit more sense than to try to walk home in a blizzard, even on pony-Christmas. I get what they were going for, but…they kinda missed.
The Rainbow one was…just okay. Really odd that she’d break the speed of light flying at the ground (wat), but, okay…
…what exactly did AJ die of? Story-has-to-kill-you-off-itis? She wasn’t old, and she was chastised about not telling Applebloom about her impending death and its cause, just what’s going to happen to AJ afterwards.
…the Pinkie one scares me…and, not a good kind of “scared”. It looked like something out of a 1970’s Mad Magazine, and that’s not a good thing.
The Fluttershy one was sad, sure, but it sort of jumped a little when the dragon showed up. The style is what really touched me.
The final story…again, I found it touching, and the art style is really good…except, I remember some of the other pieces this artist did. Don’t get me wrong, their style is solid and great to look at, but some of the facial expressions are downright…terrifying.
Twilight: Oh, hey Spike. Spike: Hello, Twilight! Twilight: We’re all inside. Spike: I don’t think I’m coming in.
[ Twilight turns to leave then looks back to Spike. ] Twilight: You know, you were a real good number two. Spike: And you were a great number one, Twilight. Twilight: Thanks, Spike… I’ll see you.
Twilight: Are they all here now? Celestia: Well, there is no NOW here. Twilight: Where are we, Pinkie? Celestia: This is the place that you all made together so that you could find one another. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these ponies. That’s why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone, Twilight. You needed all of them and they needed you. Twilight: For what? Celestia: To remember and let go. Twilight: Pinkie. She said we were leaving. Celestia: Not leaving, no. Moving on. Twilight: Where are we going? Celestia: Let’s go find out.
@TNBi
You’re telling me that Fluttershy’s treatment was even worse in the original fanfic? Rather than improving the comic, the whole thing appears that much lamer to me now. As stated before, the reasoning is BS.
@TNBi
Hmm, interesting.
I do enjoy seeing interpretations of what the future of the mane six’ future and I enjoyed this comic, it did bring a few feels to me!
The original fiction was written in Twilight’s perspective, as her own memoirs. Personally, I find the storytelling MUCH better, as many important details were lost during the creation of the comic book.
Rarity’s story was different in the first version of the fiction. It was later adapted to the current version, on which the comic was based.
There were much stuff written about Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake, with talents in flying and in magic.
The cake Pinkie left after the explosion was from S2E24, in which episode she ate as a whole, somehow a few times bigger. There was not only cake but also lots of her stuff like streamers and her musical instruments. They did NOT eat her, even though nobody could find her ever since.
This part of the fiction was really good and really pinkie-style, but most of it went missing in the comic.
AJ and Shy’s passing away were not so detailed as in the comic adaption. For this reason I’ll give their part in this fanbook a thumbs-up.
Also, it was mentioned that few ponies came to Fluttershy’s funeral because she wasn’t used to socialization all her life. Twilight was the only pony there as she outlived them all, and Discord was not mentioned as it was written before S3 started airing.
Trixie was in the story. She became Zecora’s apprentice and they were asked to find a cure for Pinkie Pie, but sadly it was beyond help.
@anontypesetter
Still, I like seeing different perspectives on how things could have, or may happen. I don’t believe MLP FiM should be locked and set in stone. It should inspire people to be creative, just like a child making up stories with their toys.
But as far as this comic went, I actually enjoyed it a bit, it seems like it took a lot of work, especially the art.
I’m rather torn about the alicorn twilight thing, and while I do support the direction the show is going with alicorn twilight, I did find it interesting that this comic seems to have taken the approach that she never became princess and the mane six died (mostly) of old age.
Although the script really could have been done better, I wouldn’t mind seeing this thing updated. I really love it when people try to predict the future of twilight’s story, even if it turns out to be non-canonical.
And for those who get upset when ever people hear the suggestion that this show is about Twilight Sparkle, I wonder if anyone has considered the shows producers might push Twilight’s princess story to a conclusion where she inherits the old pony sisters castle and takes on the formal role of princess (of something) and ends her story. But only to continue the show as highlighting different mini stories of various ponies of interest.
Like showing how Applejacks aunt Orange in Manehattan lives. Or how life in the Chrystal Empire is? I wouldn’t mind seeing the show continue without focusing on Twilight.
Eh, but I’m just rambling in the comments section, my work week has been a long one. Time for bed.
@Millennial Dan
I was just suggesting that if the community as a whole, the majority would want to see some kind of shipping, and that would eventually lead to the desire for some kind of clop, even if its questionable material.
I know a lot of people in the community can make fan content that is safe from reaching the pg13 threshold.
But if people were to judge us as a whole, they would probably think we were perverts.
@Ping_chan
I’ve actually contemplated doing that very thing, at least in comic form. I can assure you, not all of us are interested in clop, self-inserts, shipping, and forced memes.
@Millennial Dan
People have been discussing why is it that between seasons 3 and 4 the common citizens of Equestria, be it Ponyville or any other town or city, never seem to acknowledge the achievements the mane 6 have done.
Even though a hero shouldn’t go around like “hi I want to buy some ice cream, I’ll be paying with cash, but oh and don’t forget my heroes discount because of all of the times I saved the world. So yah, what was the price of your ice cream again?”
But you’d think people would say something when ever Princess friggin Alicorn Twilight walks around with her brand new wings…
Ahh, who knows, maybe Alicorns do happen every 10 years in Equestria, and Princess Cadance and Princess Twilight really aren’t all that big of a deal for the common pony…
I kinda wish that the Brony Fandom could create their own unofficial community patch for all 4 seasons and correct continuity errors and touch up small things, but I have a feeling if they did that they would slip in clop material and insert some shipping material…
@Ping_chan
Speaking of Twilight, that would have been cool. Oh well.
But really now, I insist that there are plenty of ponies who know Fluttershy. She’s not a shut-in. She and her bird choir perform all the time for large events. She was a famous model. She was celebrated in Ponyville for certain things, like Hurricane Fluttershy. She helped save the friggin’ world. No, her funeral would be well-attended, and not just by animals.
I’ll just hypothesize that there were separate memorial services or something.
@Millennial Dan
The Princesses would attend all of the funerals, but for a shut in like Fluttershy.. Unless if in later parts of her life she were to properly socialize with the rest of Ponyville, the animals are her closest friends. Especially if shuffle Discord in with the strange Everfree Forest critters.
In this Twilight does not have wings, I’m just going to assume this is a different universe where Twilight became a accomplished mage instead of princess.
@Background Pony #1A60
Not to mention Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Cadance, Shining Armor, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Big Mac, Zecora, and Cheerilee to name just a few. Nope, these six friends are the only friends that matter.
Yeah, Fluttershy’s was alright I guess, but too short, and I found it a bit irritating that only animals would be there. Even the Princesses themselves would show up for such a funeral. As for the rest, well, I liked the art, except for Pinkie’s.
@Ditavi
It´s your opinion and I respect that. The only good parts were from Applejacks to this Chapter the only good ones.
Raritys Chapter had a good potential but her death ruined it.
Rainbows Chapter was rather weird, I mean her death made me giggle a bit.
Pinkies Chapter was a mindf***. I mean the innuendos in the background and her death was … I have no words for that.
The Rest was good, that´s MY opinion
Ok, now that this is over, I can actually properly discuss things – P.F.F. was originally a proper fanfic, later adapted into comic for, therein lies some of the problems.
So you got plot compression, pacing issues, et al.
Now, this was their first attempt of them to make a collab comic, so I gotta give them that.
Ok this wasn’t a bad story,kinda bad writing, but the art was great, I know I couldn’t make it better but I just couldn’t enjoy it, I’m sorry but that’s just my opinion, if you make more make sure you think very well of this story because in here, what I could understand is that, you just tried to force feels all over the story without any development.
But then again, that’s just my silly opinion what do I know.
The Rainbow one was…just okay. Really odd that she’d break the speed of light flying at the ground (wat), but, okay…

Sorry, I made a Mistake… I named Celstia Pinkie :P

Some facts on P.F.F. (for who would care):
This part of the fiction was really good and really pinkie-style, but most of it went missing in the comic.
Also, it was mentioned that few ponies came to Fluttershy’s funeral because she wasn’t used to socialization all her life. Twilight was the only pony there as she outlived them all, and Discord was not mentioned as it was written before S3 started airing.
Why do I know these?
Still, I like seeing different perspectives on how things could have, or may happen. I don’t believe MLP FiM should be locked and set in stone. It should inspire people to be creative, just like a child making up stories with their toys.
The original fanfic, on which this was based, was written early/mid 2012, before the whole Alicorn Twilight, hence why she’s not an alicorn here.
I’m rather torn about the alicorn twilight thing, and while I do support the direction the show is going with alicorn twilight, I did find it interesting that this comic seems to have taken the approach that she never became princess and the mane six died (mostly) of old age.

Wait, this was a proper fanfic, with all chapters written by one author?
Then WTF was up with Pinkie’s chapter?!
