S2E11 “Hearth’s Warming Eve”, at 11:43, Pinkie Pie describes “the earth is round”. Considering the Human Earth was not known to Equestria at the time (Equestria Girls) Pinkie Pie must only be referring to earth in the sense of the land in general.
This means that the Equestrians know the world they live on is round.
“Edge of Equestria” would just mean the edge of Equestria’s (it is a country) border.

I thought the fact that Equestria is a country and not the name of the world was a well-established fact. Hasbro even released an official map of Equestria, with arrows at the edge pointing to other countries like the Griffon Kingdom and dragon lands.
