What have I done and not done here, I wonder? The earlier comment I wrote here is about “Being right” (Or “left”) when “Right” (And “left”) are both wrong and hurtful, But the option between left and right is correct.
Well, that and RD wasn’t choosing between two evils to begin with. She was chosing to break her promise she had with Fluttershy/Bulk Biceps/Ponyville and have her short moment of glory to fly with the WOnderbolts to later feel bad when Bulk and Shy and Derpy GETS CRUSHED in the competition and are sad about it and between staying with her friends and have fun and supoort and do not help the lieing/manipulating/teamcomrade abadonning bitches which Spitfire and Fleetfoot were till the end of that episode.
Yes, I see that in context of Rainbow Falls. But I didn’t say she chose between two evils in my earlier post, I was just referring to the battle of “Right against wrong/left” AKA “Division”. Division is not unity.
OP’s quote doesn’t apply here. Dash didn’t choose between ‘two evils’, she was given a choice between helping her friends and hometown qualify and flying for the cool team which didn’t need any help to qualify. For someone whose thing is loyalty, the choice should have been obvious from the start.
Care to explain further this view?
Dashfags, I swear.
A true, true friend helps a friend in neeeed
Evil? or ᵍᵒᵒᵈ or Evil?
What’s in the middle?
What’s the road to life? Straight and narrow?
Yes, she was in a bad situation. However, the decision Rainbow was making was worse then picking one team or the other, hence Twilight saying she should make a choice. Plus, since when is saying a couple words “forcing”? Any decision RD made was completely of her own accord, that’s why she wouldn’t tell her what to do when RD asked her which choice to make. If anything Twilight was trying to prevent RD from make the worst of the three decisions available.
Either way, she would have lost had it gone any other way. Twilight was trying to force her to make a decision that would have inevitably hurt her or her career.
That’s hindsight knowledge. It turned out well by luck, not because choosing to avoid the decision was a good decision in and of itself.
Given what RD knew at the time, it would’ve left the ponyville team without their only hope of qualifying AND RD wouldn’t have been able to fly/win/qualify with the clousdale/wonderbolts team. Given what she knew it was a lose lose situation that simply avoided Rainbow getting any blame from either side. A pretty pathetic decision if you ask me.
It worked out by luck, not because she had some secret plan to reveal the wonderbolts ass jerks and still fly with ponyville.
Haha, except that it is a decision, just in this case not a good one. I was screaming at the writers because of this quote because it was soo wrong.
Both potential choices would have been a detriment to her in some manner. If she sided with the wonderbolts, she would have essentially have abandoned her friends, but if she chose to go with her friends, she would have hurt her chances with the Wonderbolts.
Really, Rainbow’s solution actually worked out the best for everyone since she exposed the Wonderbolts’ shady practices during the qualifier.
She’s not forcing a choice, her situation forced it. It was not Twilight’s responsibility to make such a choice for Rainbow, are you seriously trying to make Twi seem like the bad guy here?
@Miss Shy
And RD chose the worst of all options, a cop out.
This isn’t a dilemma, Twilight. She had more than two choices.
I knew that, but my comment wasn’t in any way serious. :P
Yeah, that part always confused me.
