Might be actually. It's also interesting it's one of the first "superhero/comic adaptation" movies that touch on alternative universes/timelines, and alternative canons, and alternative versions of characters. Not something you see much, though I kinda fear after it's success, other copycat movies will follow suit, and overdo that concept, or handle it badly, ruining the idea/trope.
