I actually haven’t seen much racism at all. Most of the flak I see hurled at black humanizations is cause…well, the designs tend to suck hard, Whether it be the fact the color schemes are just garish or the art itself is just bad.
Thank you Niggertron, could not have said it better myself.
Nah nigga. You is the racist. Niggas could have disliked this image for any number of reasons: poor color palette, unappealing style, outrageous body type, poor anatomy, or obvious PC pandering.
You however jumped to the conclusion that the only reason someone would dislike this is due to race. Dats racist yo.
But that’s ok. Cuz i’s racist too.
And the face. Chubby, rosy cheeks can be cute when done well, but I don’t think this qualifies as done well.
Indeed I have
Admittedly, that’s why I don’t like it… I have absolutely nothing against minorities, don’t get me wrong for a second there, but the color scheme here just bugs me. That and the fact this really doesn’t strike me as a humanized Pinkie Pie so much as it does some random woman with Pinkie’s hair.
It might be because that the colors pink and brown do not go together well.
That really was only part of it; their competition doesn’t use realistic skin tones either.
I’m pretty sure that’s why they went the skin colors they did: To completely sidestep any potential arguments about race.
Can’t help but think that discussions like that (mixed with competing with rival companies) was the reason they did what they did.
But in the end there were only Equestria Girls.
It’s sad that that is the first reaction people have. What’s to say people didn’t like the image regardless of skin-colour?
I think we will be labelled as racists again.
