I’m guessing it went like this. Cadance decided to have Shining train her in fighting so she can be a badass on her own. Cadance picked it up faster than Shining expected, so during a practice session, Cadance took offense to a particular silly taunt and responded by cutting Shining’s belt-buckle off. His trousers fell down, but he smirked, and a few moments later all of Cadance’s clothes fell off.

And then they made passionate love.
