If Momlestia is cannon then I hope they would be subtle about it. Doesn’t need it’s own episode, just needs to imply and reference it every now and again.
I think she mentioned as well that the egg test was exclusively designed for Twilight since She already sensed her potential.
I remember seeing a female dragon in the MLP bible by Faust, maybe she ask celestia to ‘adopt’ the egg/spike.
(who knows dragons have magical powers maybe her was seeing the future, or maybe she wanted her dragon to be good)
either way i wish their was a mothers day episode with Celestia and spike.
I know it’s fun to hate on Celestia, but what you said conflicts with canon. Celestia took Spike’s egg with her after she found it orphaned somewhere.
Why she decided to use it as test material for magic school I have no idea.
