G.U.N. Commander: Shadow.
Shadow: Commander.
G.U.N. Commander: Not only you saved our world once more, but the entire universe as well. We’re indebted to you… Again. (sighs in annoyance and salutes)
Shadow and Red: (return the gesture)
G.U.N Commander: (Annoyed sigh)I wanna show you something. Something huge.
Red: That’s what she said-
G.U.N. Commander: What was that?
Red: Nothing sir ._.
Abe sighs and takes a tablet, showing it to both Shadow and Red. They look at a footage that shows many places around the world experiencing similar anomalies to the ones occurring in Canterlot. The same strange magical portals with hostile creatures were also at other countries around the world, but too much for their surprise, the portals started closing and the light and dark creatures vanished along with them. Then one last footage shows a massive portal over Canterlot High, it starts glowing in a bright green color before exploding as both Shadow and Red are thrown out of it along with the seven chaos emeralds before being thrown out around the world.
G.U.N. Commander: Whatever it is that you did, not only you saved your world, but you also spared the universe from extinction. Now rest up. I have a feeling that your work is just getting started.
Red: (whispers to Shadow) Till you’re 90~
Shadow: (rolls his eyes)
The commander gives them a small smile and walks away followed by other G.U.N soldiers. Shadow and Red stand still for a couple of seconds before the boy decides to break the silence.
Red: Tacos?
Shadow: I could eat.
Time skip
Both human and hedgehog are casually sitting on a bench while eating near a taco stand.
Red: Did you know that a Siren created Taco Tuesday?
Shadow: Highly doubt it.
Red: “Hmm…”
Shadow: …
Red: …
Shadow: If you’re going to say something then say it.
Red: Oh, it’s nothing. I was just wondering… what now?
Shadow: What do you mean “what now”?
Red: I mean, we escaped cyberspace, there’s no wild chaos energy on the loose and there’s no longer any mad scientists nor interdimensional beings after us. So, what are you gonna do next?
Shadow: What I always do. Keep this planet safe… and I’ll do it my own way.
Red: I take it you’re gonna be taking off then?
Shadow: Yes.
Red: Hmm… We’ll probably see each other around?
Shadow: Probably not.
Red: …
Shadow: Try not getting yourself killed out there kid.
Shadow gets up before punching Red in the shoulder and starts walking away. The human looks down for a couple of seconds deep in thought.
Red: Hey Shadow!
The hedgehog stops and immediately caught something that was thrown at him. He opened his palm and saw a shard of an emerald, he then looks back to Red who is standing with a smile on his face.
Shadow: …
Red: A little parting gift, consider it a “Thank you” for saving my home. Given the case you ever come across Canterlot City again, feel free to pass by. You’ll have a friend here that will help if you ever need anything.
Shadow: We’re allies. Nothing more. I had only one friend… a friend I will continue to honor.
Red: (chuckles) Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog.
The human waves and starts walking away. Shadow stands there, lost in thought at those familiar words his friend told him over 50 years ago as he looks at the boy disappearing from sight, he then looks down at the shard Red gave him and holds it tight before smiling.
Shadow: Sayonara indeed.
(Dashes off)
