Bad End AU: Budding Force.
Hi!! : D Long time no see! Sorry for the delay in posting art my internet has been horrible lately (. So, most of you know this guy, he has been here since almost the beginning of the AU, he was named Cosmic Power but I changed his name to Solstice - just in case, here is my toyhouse toyhou.se/Bunn_Arii i’m uploading and updating most of the cast of the AU, so if you wanna know more about them be sure to check it out! For a while i have been struggling with his talent, first i think it was like magic that had to do with stars? Then i changed it to dream walking, but lately i have been thinking about a concept that seriously can’t leave my mind, how about if he still has a huge amount of power, but his talent is something “common”? Nothing too special, but he has to leave it aside in favor of strengthening his magic? Something along “is it okay to hide your real self for the greater good? “. And that’s how i got this idea:

Little Solstice’s powers had been evident since his early childhood. Even as a baby his outbursts of magic had been different from other foals, it showed that he had potential, and his aunt Sunset Shimmer saw this. She started his magical training as soon as he was able to read, she didn’t had any experience in teaching, but she had tried her best to teach him the basics and then follow along with the more complex spells. She noticed that he was on par with her level of magic at her age, and she thought that maybe, since she was Celestia’s student and on route of becoming a princess, maybe he could achieve it? Being a great wizard, ascend; an alicorn could maybe have the level of magic necessary to raise the sun again.

But all of those ideas changed the moment Sol got his cutiemark, while performing a growing spell, he had succeed on growing not one, but the whole packet of seeds. It was a glowing sunflower, a good omen right? Still could have a connection with the sun, just like Sunset’s. The little colt beamed, but couldn’t understand why his aunt looked so…disappointed.

“Look auntie! I grew these flowers myself! Aren’t they beautiful? Do you think I could try growing a tree next?” “Oh Sol they are., but wouldn’t you rather practice those levitation spells I showed you?”

He couldn’t understand, he felt happy doing magic spells with plants, watch them grow. His aunt said he should focus, these spells could wait… he needed to practice more ,he would find time later to perform as many as he wanted.

Right?

But as the years went by, Sol found less and less time to explore his true passion, but he guesses it’s alright. Maybe when things change, he can enjoy his beautiful flowers in a field full of sunshine instead of moonlight.
